Underwater issues

Alright, so I’m making a map that has a bunker like building underwater. I have windows on this building so you can see underwater.
The problem is that I don’t know how to attempt this. If I do the water the “right” way with the texture on top and nodraw on the sides,
I don’t actually see any water through the window. If I just make it a water block then there is no “water fog” when you look through the window.
So how exactly am I supposed to do this? First post btw.

Edit: Not that it should matter but this is for cs:s using the “MP Engine”.

Edit2: Well… just read this http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=933566 and realized I’m going to have a very dark foggy surface.

Try adding an env_for_controller with a grey-brown color,similar to in-water fog
Just like gm_seabase_alpha by brebern

Yeah that would be fine, but I have an outside part of the map too so I don’t really want the same fog out there.

Maby you can use a func_smokevolume with a water fog material outside the window and trigger the visibillity by trigger_multiple.

How does one get the material for the water fog?

You don’t.

In my second edit there is that forum post of somebody who already tried doing this and just decided to not make a surface for their level because it would have to have the same fog as the underwater part. I think I’ll just deal with the weird fog on my surface. :stuck_out_tongue:
