Hello, ive recently been starting to play around with usermessages mainly for a currecy system im making, now, i often find myself in the position of having to request an update from the server on the client, is this possible?

For example, if i placed this function inside shared.lua, would i be able to call it from the client, and have the server send it?

function meta:UpdateMoney()
local cash = Money[self:UniqueID()]
SendUserMessage(“MoneyUpdate”, self, cash)

No, it doesn’t work that way, shared only means that both the server and the client can use the same things in the file. But if something has been changed on the server, it doesn’t happen on the client. Make the client use a server concommand that makes the server send the update for money.
