Using constraints on a player without messing up their movement?

I’m trying to use some rope constraints on a player - but I’m noticing the ropes are just stretching when being used on a player. I also tried welding a no collision prop inside the player and attaching ropes to it - still, no luck. Basically the effect I’m going for here is that the rope wouldn’t affect the player unless they were for example hanging on it, in which case they would hang there. The last case resort I looked at was fucking with SetupMove/Move but I’d really like to avoid that and use code that’s already there. Any ideas?
