UV Mapping Trouble in XSI Mod Tool

I am trying to make a UV map for a rocket model I am creating but the default UV map is nearly impossible to work with. It looks something like this:


Right now the polygons seem to be grouped together in all of these tiny bits and I want to know if there is a way to manually group them or something to make it easier. I’ve searched around for a while and haven’t found any solutions

There’s probably a way in XSI where you can mark where you want the UV seam to be. It’s easy in blender, but I don’t know anything about XSI.
