I had trouble narrowing it down, but using the “Ensure file post-exists” option I found that vbsp.exe was not making my map file, causing a bunch of other issues down the line.

Some information that might be useful:
The game is NEOTOKYO°
There is not a leak.
I have tried other skyboxes, no effect.
There are no displacements in my map.
There is no crazy geometry that I know of.
I have correctly configured my GameConfig.txt and other maps work(compile, write, load) just fine.
Copy/pasting the map into another file yields the same result.
The only props are prop_static.
I am not using any custom textures, so there isn’t any user error with .vmts, .vtfs and the like.

I have searched google for about 15mins now, and only one thread on steam user forums exists with a similar problem.

So obviously vbsp is screwing up somehow. I have reinstalled, rebooted, and validated cache (multiple times), to no avail.

I’m going to bed cause it is too late for me, so here is a dropbox link to a .zip with the .log file and the vmf:

not sure if you fixed this but i tried a compile using hl2 ep2 hammer and this was in the compile thats not in yours
Overlay touching too many faces (touching 115, max 64)
Overlay decals/decalindustrialnumber04b at 432.0 1208.0 756.0

change or make the overlay touch less faces and it should work ok

I have not fixed it yet lol.

I had 8 overlays in the map that i knew of and only one of them touched two surfaces (it was number04b, definitely). I will try to delete those.

EDIT: This fixed it. I wonder why I didn’t get that error message…

I suggest you use http://www.interlopers.net/errors next time. It will break down the log for you and show you how to fix each error.

you could be using the wrong compile tools for a 2007 mod like neotokyo you should use steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin not \steam\steamapps\common\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin\ which are older tools
