I know How to make car skins, but How do i make it so when using color tool On my car that it only changes part of the skins color? Also where do you skin windows if i Want to make tinted Windows, would tinted Windows work using setsubmaterial?
It’s controlled by the alpha map. White areas on the alpha map will be 100% affected by the color tool, black will be 0% affected by the color tool, 50% grey will be 50% affected, etc. Then in the vmt you must set the parameter $blendtintbybasealpha to 1.
Unfortunately this will also color the glass on most vehicles unless it’s a solid cubemap material. There was a way around that but I haven’t messed with this in years so I don’t remember.
