Vindictus/Mabinogi Heros Model(s)

It’s been awhile since I’ve requested, so this might come out wrong or rude.

Anywho, I was wondering if it’s possible to rip from the Nexon hosted game Vindictus (also known as Mabinogi Heroes). All I would want is the Paladin and Dark Knight models (the special transformation). Mainly the female Paladin model is all I want, but the others wouldn’t hurt and would be appreciated. Just the models are fine or a method on how to rip them will work too. If there is a method, it will be awhile for me to attempt as the current computer I am on isn’t quite up for the task.

I do know that this game uses the Source Engine, so I don’t know if that makes ripping any easier or harder.

You don’t really need to rip from it, the game runs on a modified version of the source engine which makes it quite easy to port from, here’s the tut from a while back. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1057140-Vindictus-model-porting-tutorial

Alright, I appreciate that. I did want the models though to use them in other games and such. Thank you very much Mr.95.

Also, I won’t be able to do anything till my new computer arrives, so it will be awhile till I can attempt this. If anyone does so, let me know please.

All you need is pretty much everything from this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1057140
But if you already have everything. Then head the follow the steps provided.

  1. (Make sure it is version 0.5) If you already did that. Skip it.

  1. Open the MDL Decompiler and gather the required files (.dx80.vtx, .dx90.vtx, mdl, phy, and vvd.)
    If the model doesn’t have a phy file, use an another model’s phy file and rename it.
  2. Once you decompilered everything, open your .qc file and open it and scroll til you reach here.

  1. Get all the vmts and vtfs listed in the .qc file. (Make sure the shaders are “VertexLitGeneric”)
    Once you done that, move all the vmts and vtfs (also the .mdl, .phy, .dx80vtx, .dx90vtx, and vvd files and make sure those files go to the models folder not the materials folder) in the right folder. Example (Noticed how all the vmts and vtfs are correct listed in the right folders.

  1. Now go on to Garry’s Mod. The end result be like this.

EDIT: Maybe I might release these models. Since there are very few public Vindictus Models.

Thanks for the help. I will get to it when I get my new pc. Glad to know it isn’t a pain to do though. If I knew how to port the .PMG format of the original Mabinogi, I could do those models as well. I still like the designs of how the “Infra Black” and “Champion” from Mabinogi over Vindictus.

Though a silly question to ask. Should I want these models in a different game (i.e. Skyrim, etc.), how would I go by doing that?

No Problem. For your question, Unfortunately, I don’t have Skryim. So I don’t really know how to do that.
