Weird lighting on models

I dunno, but a model I ported from COD4 has strange lighting on it, It’s like if it isn’t on a specific angle, it won’t absorb the light properly (Ie. Everything becomes dark while one side is lighted).

Is there something simple that fixes this?

Has it got a phong/spec map? If so probberly needs altering, if not check for lightwarps (unlikely but sometimes causes that), then phong exponent/envmap contrast. If the VMT(s) don’t have any fancyness then I have no idea what it is @.@
