So I have been wondering if it was messed up to De-compile to see how they did something and or for learning experiences. Of course after asking for permission but I mean if they never reply to either not letting you have permission or yes letting you have permission please let me know what you guys think.
Map developers could honestly care less if you decompile their maps. It’s when you try to make edits or it and publish them, is when they don’t like it.
Even if they didn’t want you to decompile it, it’s not like they know you did it if you never released what you decompiled.
There’s really nothing wrong with decompiling to learn from other mappers.
Just as long as you don’t directly copy that content into your map, you’re okay.
I don’t see why you’d need to ask permission if you’re not actually incorporating their stuff into your map.
