Will someone answer a poor newbie's questions?

  1. I’ve been having some troubles with missing textures- the hair on the ubered Scout moms ( http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=81470 ) shows up as the placeholder purple-and-black checkers, as well as the entirety of this custom map ( http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=6619 ). It’s just a vast expanse of black and purple.

  2. The thread on Rebaccus’ Ms. Pauling ragdoll ( http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=122479 ) included her in her dress, but I can only get the pantsuit on mine. Was the dress skin removed?

  3. Is there any way I can get the resources from L4D into GMod with converting anything? If not, what do I need to do?

Thank you all in advance.

1: I think you need to download and run TF2 at least once. That’s what those textures look like they’re from.

2: I bet you need a bodygroup tool found here: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=126136

  1. I think you can mount L4D and get the textures and ragdolls in game no problem. As for maps, those don’t work by default, but a few people have converted some maps to work in gmod. Search around on garrysmod.org and this site for some of the threads. Here’s a freebie, this user has done some of the conversions:

Thanks!
Figured out the solution to the map in #1 (resource files in wrong folder), still working on uber Scout Mama hair. Bodygroup tool didn’t work, just cycled through the two skins. Eh, guess I can live without. :v: Haven’t tried mounting L4D in GMod yet, will tackle again.

The bodygroup tool takes some time to get used to, don’t give up on it too quickly. Try every single combination of numbers you can (or have the patience for). Glad you’re getting it figured out.

Bodygroup tool is proving fruitless so far, but I’ll keep trying!

Meanwhile, does anyone know of any 3D Ripper DX like tools for the Mac? I’d like to try and get some Telltale models into GMod.

I wouldn’t count on it. You might need a actual model creator to do it, like autodesk, but check if it can do the models your wanting to convert.
