WIP JC Denton model help

So, I’m trying to port JC Denton from Deus Ex into Garry’s Mod.

So, I have the model rigged, and textured. The model itself works fine in GMod, but the textures…

The model can be posed just fine


I was wondering if there is any way to fix this. Sorry if this is an obvious answer; I’m new to ragdoll rigging and modeling for the Source Engine.

In all seriousness though, the problem appears to be with the alphas. Try turning them off.

You need to flip the normals, assuming that’s the issue. Or just take the lazy route and add $nocull to your .vmt

how did you extract him?

I don’t remember the exact link, but if you look up “Tack’s Deus Ex Mesh Tool” you should be able to find it. It exports to .ms3d, though, so you’ll have to convert to to whatever your program’s native model format is in Milkshape first.

Well, I tried using “$nocull 1” on my .vmt files and it didn’t seem to work, but thanks for the suggestion. But how exactly do I flip my normals? I’m using 3DS Max 2010, if that helps.

EDIT: I think I managed to flip the normals. Will report if that does anything soon.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I did.
Anyway, I somehow fucked up the sunglasses, one thing led to another, and now I have to completely re-weight the model. The textures are fine now, though (except the sunglasses).
Yep, I dun’ goofed. But thank you all for your help. You are all wonderful people. And I sure hope that didn’t sound corny.

Well, there are still a few bugs that need to be worked out before he gets released, but the actual textures work wonders, now.
