A thread for all my American World of Tanks releases.

M2A1:

M3 Lee:

T40/M9 GMC:

M7 Priest:

M4A1 and M4A1(76)W:

M4 Improved:

M4A2 and M4A2(76)W:

M4A3E2 and M4A3E2(76):

To starts us off:

M4A1 Sherman

A ragdoll of the HD M4A1 Sherman as it appears in World of Tanks.
Contains separate hull and turret models.

Frontal machinegun, turret, main cannon and pintle machinegun are ragdolled. The various hatches on the tank are rigged and can be opened with a bone tool. Back tools and both tracks are bodygrouped and can be removed.

The M4A1 variation of the well known Sherman tank, having a fully cast hull unlike the cast/welded hull of the M4. While it’s main gun sufficed as both an anti-infanrty and anti-armor weapon, it was somewhat incapable against stronger German armor, and unsuited to counter them in long-ranged battles.

Name: M4A1 Sherman
Armament: 1 75mm M3 tank gun, 2 M1919A4 Browning machineguns. This version has a pintle-mounted M2 Browning machinegun
Class: Medium Tank
Role: General-Purpose, anti-infantry anti-tank
Engine: Continental R975 C1
Suspension: VVSS
Time of production: Produced from February 1942 to December 1943
Volume of production: Total of 6,281 units produced

UPDATE:
Added alternate model with a bodygrouped machinegun.

Love the model and definitely love the Sherman. Great tank really.

Someone needs to hack together some high quality tankers to go with it!

UPDATE:
Added the M4A1(76)W

M4A1(76)W

An M4A1 upgraded with a new, larger turret and a 76mm M1 tank gun to counter stronger enemy armor. The 76mm gun offered superior penetration over long ranges, allowing it to engage heavier German armor.

Name: M4A1 Sherman
Armament: 1 76mm M1 tank gun, 2 M1919A4 Browning machineguns. This version has a pintle-mounted M2 Browning machinegun
Class: Medium Tank
Role: General-Purpose, anti-infantry anti-tank
Engine: Continental R975 C1
Suspension: VVSS
Time of production: Produced from January 1944 to July 1945
Volume of production: Total of 3,246 units produced

Please report any bugs you find.

UPDATE:
Added recoil bones to the barrels.

Mate, if you get a chance, could you see if you could get the Czech TVP T50/51. Would be greatly appreciated, excellent work on the Sherman though.

World of Tanks models: American Tanks

Czech tanks will go on their separate thread once I can extract the models.
Currently working on M4 Improved.

Sounds like a plan to me, thanks!

So are you just doing historical tanks or are you going to be doing the prototypes and paper tanks as well?

Everything that isn’t fake(AKA 59 Patton, WTE100, GW Tiger P in its current form)
JP2 is a half fake, so I might try to make the JP128.

That also includes fake gun and turret configurations by the way.
So BL-10 on OBJ 704 is never gonna happen.

Kolouhousenka will not be done either, as an historical configuration is impossible in that tank, I do not have the parts for it.

New Release time:

M4 Improved - Aberdeen Proposal

A ragdoll of the HD M4 Improved as it appears in World of Tanks.

Turret and main cannon are ragdolled. The various hatches on the tank as well as the frontal and turret machineguns are rigged and can be moved with a bone tool. Back tools, side spare tracks and both tracks are bodygrouped and can be removed.

A project to create an improved version of the original M4 Sherman tank submitted by Aberdeen in 13 March, 1942. It possessed thicker, sloped armor plates to improve protection, as well as an improved engine, which required the tank to install the HVSS suspension from the M6 Heavy tank. However, due to the new components required, the tank production was cancelled.

Name: M4 Improved (Aberdeen variant)
Armament: 1 75mm M3 tank gun, 3 M1919A4 Browning machineguns
Class: Medium Tank
Role: General-Purpose, anti-infantry anti-tank
Engine: Wright G200
Suspension: HVSS
Time of production: Not Produced
Volume of production: No units were produced

Please report any bugs you find.

And now for a personal favorite:

M3 Lee

A ragdoll of the HD M3 Lee as it appears in World of Tanks.

Turret, hull turret, small turret and the two main guns are ragdolled. The various hatches on the tank as well as the turret machinegun are rigged and can be moved with a bone tool. Back tools, back cable and both tracks are bodygrouped and can be removed.

An American tank born ouf of the necessity of a medium tank mounting a 75mm cannon. Said cannon was mounted on a sponson, with the turret containing a smaller 37mm gun. While it was a powerful frontline vehicle for it’s time, it’s many drawbacks, from it’s awkward gun mount to the riveted hull and large crew requirements meant that the tank was quickly replaced by the M4 Sherman once the latter was in production.

Name: M3 lee
Armament: 1 75mm M2 tank gun, 1 37mm M5/M6 Tank gun and 4 M1919A4 Browning machineguns
Class: Medium Tank
Role: General-Purpose, anti-infantry anti-tank
Engine: Wright R975 EC2
Suspension: VVSS
Time of production: Produced from August 1941 to December 1942
Volume of production: Total of 6,258 units produced

I think this might be the first model of the M3 Lee we’ve had in Garry’s Mod. We honestly need more early war stuff.

Unfortunately the model converter I am using can only convert up to version 9.9 of WoT, and most of the early war stuff only gets HD models after that.
If any of you guys know of a newer converter, or better yet, a converter for the track compositions, that would be massively helpful.

Another request:

Heavy Tank T34

A ragdoll of the HD T34 Heavy Tank as it appears in World of Tanks.

The tracks alone have about 52k vertices.
This was a fun model.

Turret, and main gun are ragdolled. The various hatches on the tank are rigged and can be opened with a bone tool. Back tools, a fuel tank, the frontal track pieces, a tool bag and both tracks are bodygrouped and can be removed.

T34

The final product of the T29 Heavy tank project, after the T29 and T30, and the most advanced of the three. It mounted a new 120mm cannon, which required the bolting of an additional armor plate to the rear of the turret to counter the weight of the gun.

Name: Heavy Tank T34
Armament: 1 120mm T53 tank gun, 2 M2HB Browning machineguns, 1 M1919A4 Browning machinegun.
Class: Heavy Tank
Role: General-Purpose, anti-infantry anti-tank
Engine: Ford GAC V12
Crew: 6
Suspension: Torsion Bar
Time of production: Produced in 1945
Volume of production: Total of 2 prototypes converted from a T29 and a T30

Some more early war stuff:

A ragdoll of the HD M2 Medium Tank as it appears in World of Tanks.

Turret and main cannon are ragdolled. The 2 hatches on the tank are rigged and can be moved with a bone tool. Tools and both tracks are bodygrouped and can be removed.

The improved version of the M2 medium tank designed just before WW2. It was however outdated on arrival, and did not participate in any combat scenario. It however was a stepping stone in the development of the M3 Lee.

M2A1

Name: Medium Tank M2A1
Armament: 1 37m M3 tank gun, 7 Browning M1919 machine guns
Class: Medium Tank
Role: General-Purpose, anti-infantry anti-tank
Weight: ~18 tons
