Battlefield V Official Firestorm Reveal Trailer (Battle Royale)

If that is a reference to bfv or something it totally went over my head..I played it maybe for 2 days and was like fuck this and went to back to bf1.
not that it matters because you shouldn't buy the game solely based on a trailer anyway but that's incredibly nickpicky
Battlefield stopped being real battlefield when they nerfed air vehicles.
references the Strike at karkand map from Battlefield 2 and the glorydays of the pre-patched nade launcher that could decimate anyone
BF2 reference(I think)
Karkand is basically the battlefield 2 de_dust2. It was(and is) mainly played with all vehicles disabled on Karkand only 24/7 servers. It is hell on earth.
BF3's campaign was pretty cool imo. A lot of game play elements were shitty but the immersion was incredible in many regards.
i'd say a cutscene that clearly demonstrates gameplay goals and not just visual goals is worth something, and i learned quite a bit about what they're looking to accomplish with this BR mode from the trailer alone
if you had a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the killzone 2 trailer and 10 being left 4 dead's, i'd put this at about a 7-8
(disclaimer for my own skin, not even a perfect 10 trailer should justify a blind purchase)
on the other hand, you can get killed by a rat in a QTE so
mixed bag
People are drawing an awful lot of conclusions from a glorified cutscene. Say what you want about the trailer "showing their goal" but even the initial reveal of BF3's MP was actual gameplay.
battlefield attacking respawn IPs again smh smh

A bit redundant with the leaked intro video and this trailer, but a week before, someone 'leaked' Firestorm's gameplay details and the like

What does it demonstrate? That there will be vehicles? I highly disagree, I'm not saying it can't turn out great I'm just saying that trailers like these are not at all an indicator of wether the final product will be good or not.
4 player squads
targetable air strikes
destructible buildings (i guess to be expected if you're into battlefield)
some variety of unique and multipurpose light vehicles, some not even having full squad seating.
spotting system (also a battlefield staple, but it made me think of apex more, and i'm sure EA's made respawn and dice sit together in a room at least once)
vehicle airdrops
ring's not gonna kill you right away; don't be afraid of it, but do stay out of it
big tank for those who can find it
out in two weeks, safe to assume the mode is feature-complete
doesn't say anything about the quality of the product obviously; nothing outside of raw gameplay feeds really will these days, but apex has demonstrated that a successful BR game needs a tight identity and clear degrees of separation from the rest of the market.
there is information to be gleaned from a purely cinematic trailer, especially for people with limited BR or BF background, in the same way that left 4 dead introduced each of its unique gameplay mechanics in a single 4 minute cutscene. beats the hell out of pre-rendered fake gameplay or pure story at least.
I mean, it's still gonna be the same BFV gameplay so it's not like the way it plays is 100% unknown.
the part where the two teams got into the houses and started firing at each other back and forth to no success had me dying, that was genuinely hilarious
That is true, and I do like the way bfv handles, the gunplay etc.
danger zone
they decide to use the worst element from pubg that no one likes and exists because the creator thinks its fun and is too stubborn to change his mind.

so they went the safe way and showed no female skins on this cinematic to prevent any shitstorm?
They've been doing that with every trailer ever since the reveal and surprise: all of those trailers are straight upgrades to the reveal trailer.
They should've done this for the reveal and subsequently gave the entire shitfuck the CoD WWII treatment of straight up ignoring them.
That tank in the bunker at the end looked like a Sturmtiger.
Map preview and holy fuck it's huge

Second image is an overlayed comparison with BFV's current largest map, Hamada, which is about the size of Caspian Border(?)
Because it IS a Sturmtiger
