This franchise has managed to hit the mark consistently for three films running. I see no reason to bet against this one. It'll probably be pretty great.
First impressions lead me to believe that we'll see Forky going through some self-actualization as a toy, with him acting as the angel on Woody's shoulder trying to convince a reluctant Woody to return to Bonnie.
Either way, there's potential here for something really good.

I think he meant to the point that the dress didn't seem fabric in prior films. And honestly I can see why when you go back and look at the graphics of the first two at a glance. Still, I can see the wiggle room for the retcon:

Even with the comparatively lower-quality graphics of 1995, Bo's clothes have different lighting and textures from her porcelain body. Biggest counter is just how stiff and puffy her dress is, tho.

Her look in the second film at least seems more believable as cloth. Note the shine in her blue undergarments this time around. That and the thin translucent laces (also in the first) would indicate her whole design being more complex than just a few layers of fragile material.

Not to say my disbelief is wholly suspended. Granted, with Bo''s absence in the third film, this is the first time since 1999 that Pixar's done fresh renders of her, there's room for their graphic upgrades to have overhauled her look by a lot, but it's surprising to see her dress become so cloth like that it drapes around the legs. Not to mention her bonnet being removable is something I definitely couldn't see originally.
