Can't we just take the forum from Garry? There's only one of him and so many of us, we can commandeer this ship. The Rust and Garrysmod Forum can be sacrifices if need be, and we can rename it, or we can just do a kickstarter to 'buy' it from him. I don't see why we should abandon our infrastructure. I support the notpunch effort to make a new site, but I fear that we will suffer attrition in our users by making the transition.
Maybe I'm just in denial. I don't want facepunch to die.
A pretty large contributor (IMO) to avoid attrition would be for Garry to be so kind as to simply, at least temporarily, replace FP with a page stating something like "FP is dead, go to *link to Knockout/Notpunch*" when he decides to take it down

don't see myself ever migrating to knockout but I'll be here til the plugs pulled. part of me still doesn't think it'll happen, been here long enough to have seen plenty of drama and we're all still here.

i have been to so many forums, sites and many others for nearly 10 years. and NO ONE match this forum.
i spend countless hours reading facepunch and i enjoy single seconds of it even tho i don't post much. i love every different perspective this forum offer, make me a different person than what i have when i was a teen. from to learn to check every source, learn avoid to do stupid stuff to in internet and to know the long term of you action . and for some reason being called very wise person from my family, probably because i learn so many thing from this forum.

Been here since the summer of 2015, and it feels like yesterday (especialy the "Wickedplayer post")
This forum is one of the best I have known, and I have made a few friendships here, and overall, it has been a nice run.
Its good that we also have Knockout.chat but it will be a while until we will fully transition.

I remember joining FP just before smartness was removed. Someone tricked me into typing snigger and I got a 7 day autoban. Good times.
This was my first actual ban too but for a slightly different reason.
Someone created a thread how if you use an instaban word and preview the post instead of posting it, your post will get replaced by an image of a dog barfing. The preview post actually still triggers instaban, so suffice to say I got banned for 7 days by saying nigger in a post I didn't even post
I'm very new here compared to most of you, 2015-2016 if I remember correctly, but I still have very fond memories of FP.
Nothing is quite like it. I'm ready for Knockout when it comes to it. I really hope it doesn't tho.
