It's not Burch, apparently its the guy from 1. I wouldn't worry too much about stuff that's clearly for a trailer
I hope the release date isn't horrendously in the future. The wait for BL2 seemed like forever
Seems like they missed an opportunity to go with borderworlds instead of borderlands given the new areas, but I guess brand recognition is paramount.
From what randy has said, I wouldn't be too surprised with late summer or fall release. He has said several times that he doesn't want the wait from reveal to release be long, but who knows.
iirc gearbox actually has this trademarked. Could see usage in the future, but it's also possible they trademarked it as a precaution
A man playing the saxophone does not make it a meme or a reference. More than anything, it just shows that your head is more fixated on the meme rather than the devs.
Where's my bae Gaige

So this is a thing.
Polygon hitting us with the spiciest of hot takes

Eh idk. The vibe i got from this trailer is the same vibe of the original Borderlands 1 trailer.
Which hopefully means the setting itself would take itself more seriously. Yet it'll have humor involved cause its Borderlands. But i hope its more of situational humor and not poking fun at itself. Like DMC5, i hope games and settings embrace their craziness and ridiculous nature unironically. Btw these fucking character designs are solid as fuck.
They hit that perfect compromise between Complex and Unique.

Do I go with ms abs waifu or alternate universe adam jensen...
Definitely appreciating the Jurassic Park callback during the "baddies" portion on the Jungle Planet.
I love all the designs, I hope we get an option for AI squad mates because I can't decide between Flak (God I hope it's actually Loaderbot) and Musclefu
Why not Crocobot Dundee or Tank girl?
I never got around to playing BL1, and was really put off with BL2 and the Pre-sequel. The TellTale game looked cool and watched a couple videos because I wasn't getting into their way of gameplay. BL3 looks to be way better than I thought and I'll be watching this, and I'm loving the new characters, though as a guy who wasn't a huge fan of the "billions of guns" thing with 1,000,000 assault rifles(seriously at lease ONE Gatling gun or something?), are the other games still worth it? Is it just as fun solo then with friends because I hardly know anyone who still plays them.
A game that's somewhat designed to be co-op is never going to be as fun when you play it solo. Like I said...somewhere (I think I said it on the other BL3 thread), BL2 has this weird way of making you feel incredibly alone, even when interacting with NPCs. Something about the vast level designs captures 'It's you, and just you, punk', but I have no idea whether that was intentional. I didn't play BL1 but I loved BL2 and I've never been a guy that's into cringe writing that boils down to 'how do you do, fellow kids?' --> The writing honestly isn't as obviously cringe as people try and make it out to be. Although, BL2 still has a relatively active community considering how long ago it came out, and I think it is worth it because, despite its flaws, it executes some things really fucking well. Handsome Jack is an amazing villain that you learn to hate (stay away from Pre-Sequel) either from Day 1 or as he gradually proves that, yes, he is an absolute cunt. Playing BL2 for the first time is something I won't ever forget because of the twists and turns it takes, without doing so obnoxiously. Just don't play Axton; he's more fucking dull than a water pipe.
Overall i'd say the writing in BL2 is pretty solid. Its that the humor can be a bit hit or miss.
While I like every character's powerset from what I've seen, not digging how soldier girl looks. She's just so bland
The Borderlands 1 remaster coming on April 3rd is on Steam, I know that much.
I'd say yes.
I need to take this huge rock off of my chest that constantly shouts about how much I ADORED the Zombie Island of Dr.Ned bit of dlc.
Good lord I loved every bit of it.
Hope 3 takes more inspiration from 1 than 2. We need more content like The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.
I guess from a odd standpoint, I kind was turned off by the loot angle and how it was mostly guns given that one of them was a ninja with a sword. Maybe it was just wishful thinking they could have made more gear, but this one seems to be adding more. Guess I'll give BL2 a shot for either PC or PS4, because I remember Salvador, Zer0, and Kreig look like my kind of guys to roll with.
All I hear in regards to people talking about the story is the cringe humor and memes. What I remember, and I wish other people would bring it up (which you alluded to) is the main story arch with Jack and [sp]his daughter Angel. The voice acting and writing behind that part in the story was so fucking good. God, it had me stressing hard in the mission where you have to kill his daughter and she's telling you to keep going. All the while, Jack is pleeding with you to stop. After that mission, all humor is dropped from Jack and he's out to fucking murder you. All the while, he still thinks that he's the hero, that he's the riotous one. [/sp]. It's so fucking good.
I'll admit that it really doesn't visually look like a game that's 7 years newer.
To be fair it's not really showing off the tech in this video, when we see gameplay I'm sure we'll see some new tech or at least improved tech on show.
Also does anyone else think Lilith looks pretty cute now? Like she has a fuller face and it suits her, I just wanna smush her cheeks!
Borderworlds is actually released.
It's basically just a fanfiction app - though some of the fanfiction in there is GBX-made so there might be some insight into Borderlands 3.
Considering it's the same game with MOAR, the take is technically accurate. The problem for Polyannagon is that's all anybody wanted. Same style of complaints about CDPR making witcher 3 'it's too big and more of the same but better'. Well no shit.
All the soldier characters have been really bland. Roland (come on, he didn't really have a personality till 2), Axton, and this new girl. They're just generic military figures for people who want to play as a generic military figure.
IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS
