This looks fun and all, but I wish they'd come up with their own art style because this just looks like they ripped off DOOM 2016 and called it a day.
looks sick. I love how they make the 3d models into sprites while still keeping the DOOM 2016 render style.
Although I can't help but feel that and the over the top gore and violence are the only things that make it unique, based on GManlive's experience as he described it.
Not sure how much is due to video compression, but the game looks like a clusterfuck in my screen, not sure if I would be able to keep track of enemies when they all look like a grey and brown mess while there's a shit load of dithered effects and blood flying
wonder what it would look like without trying to look retro in the wrong way
i reckon it would be fine with smooth animations and without the pixelation filter
I kinda really like the flash-based 3d FPS aesthetic they got going on
i dont see the point of being able to aim down sights since he doesn't use it in this video (except for a few split seconds). would make sense if some of the levels had large open areas and there was a sniper style weapon.
It does seem to tighten the shotgun cone of fire if aimed at least.
There's a point where I look at it and go "couldn't it just be in 3D though" and this is it. It's very visually overwhelming too with its effects and lighting.

As stated in their kickstarter, the pixellation is just an effect. You can turn it off if you want.
looks like all the textures are still made low res, instead of letting the filter do the job on those too
