I disagree, Rebels had the worst idea this universe has ever had. I would not be surprised if they use this to save Luke or bring back Sheev.

Also, just wanted to pop in this thread to be seemingly the only other person who liked TLJ - I loved everything they did with Luke and the old mythology, was okay with the Rose/Finn subplot (people keep saying it has nothing to do with the rest of the story, except they failed miserably, and that was the fucking point?). It's really upsetting, but I do kind of agree with the sentiment that Lucasfilm will most probably steer away from TLJ stuff in the future because of the fan backlash

I was really hoping the Emperor wouldn't come back, this trilogy relies on enough older characters and designs as it is. He's probably in a force-vision or something, being actually alive would cheapen the OT.

After falling down the reactor shaft, Sheev's force ghost is still in transit. It's occasionally seen falling through the Death Star's ruined walls, zooming in random directions and screaming wildly.
He revealed around the same time it came out IIRC.

also if i'm not mistaken the desert looking place visually looks a lot like jedha, the ancient jedi planet from rogue one, also considered a place for jedi to seek spiritual guidance but the planet also got blown half to hell so i cant say for certain
also that is definitely the death star, so it either landed on yavin 4 or one of the system's other moons
also means that kylo ren and co have been there before considering he had Vader's helmet, which means they could have just as easily discovered something of the emperor. maybe kylo ren meets the force ghost of sheev?
I like the backpedaling of having Kylo repair his mask. JJ is cleaning up Rian's fucking mess.
That's because the desert scenes for IX were filmed in Wadi Rum, Jordan, where scenes for Rogue One were also filmed.
(given that Jedha currently looks like this, I doubt the desert planet from the trailer is intended to be the same place.)
