He's with Infinity Ward now.
Pleasantly surprised that EA didn't shove the thing into Frostbite, would've been a fucking treat to see some quality jank in trying to recreate a Souls-like game on an engine that shits itself when you don't have a gun
Hopefully we won't be waiting too long for gameplay It's not my fault. You guys showed a story trailer. SA: There is something interesting to that. It's the first project I've been working on that every major milestone we've done has been a gameplay milestone. This is the first time that we did a cinematic trailer type of thing. Funny how it works out like that, right? SA: A lot of teams are like, "We really need to pitch what the game is like, and the tone, and setup." It's easier to do something like that with a movie. For Respawn, we really focus on the gameplay. Everything that we were delivering to Lucasfilm and sharing internally at Respawn and EA was all "Get your hands on the sticks and play it," and watch how it's evolving. SB: It speaks to their great partnership there, and the process of developing the game. We knew Star Wars Celebration was going to be the moment in which we were going to unveil stuff, we started having those conversations of what does it look like publicly. SA: It was the right way, considering it was Celebration. It pains me that we aren't showing gameplay right now, but it wouldn't be appropriate. Trust me, we have a lot of it to show – and get your hands on. https://www.gameinformer.com/star-wars-celebration/2019/04/13/an-interview-with-the-creators-of-star-wars-jedi-fallen-order
Probably EA Play in June.
It's weird approaching this as a Respawn fan instead of a Star Wars fan, people are pissing their pants overanalyzing the cinematic trailer and meanwhile I just want to see where the third person camera is in relation to the player character because this is Respawn's first stab at that kind of thing
He left Respawn back in early 2018 so I doubt it.
Exactly how long after Episode does this take place? It'd be cool if the technology we saw was in the transitional period between Republic and Empire rather than go full Empire.
I think somewhere might have said it's around five years after ROTS? I'm not entirely sure. It's far enough along from then that we've got stormtroopers, AT-STs and TIE fighters running around rather than their Clone Wars counterparts from what's been shown here.
Cautiously hopeful. This is a great part of the timeline to explore. UE4, great studio. I'll wait a bit after launch to doge an EA bait and switch and see reviews. But if it is what they say it is then it could be awesome. The narration looks on point, i'm getting W:TNO vibes
They've been working on this since at least 2016, so it's possible that he did contribute a bit.
It's coming out this year and they haven't shown any gameplay. This is reminding me a lot of Andromeda.
Since it's a Lucas and Disney property they have to go thru a lot more hoops to actually be able to show shit.
So odd seeing the Joker from Gothem in the Star Wars universe.
The lead producer was also a lead dev in God of War 3.
I was really hoping for a jedi academy style game with mp so we could have some amazing modern lightsaber duels (with all the insane levels of control you had in the old jedi knight games)
That's fair enough, but keep in mind they don't have to use Frostbite. That alone is keeping me cautiously optimistic.
Chris Avellone is doing the story who also did the story of Kotor 2
I don't believe he was the head writer, just one of the writers.
He was lead writer and designer of kotor 2 Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II
I meant on this game.
Yeah it seems you right lead writer is Aaron Contreras.
