That's literally one of the points Lindsey made in her video. The film actually felt a need to address shit like Belle supposedly being a victim of stockholme syndrome (which is and has always been a ludicrous criticism of the original film), and in the process completely mangled the themes and message of the movie. God, can CInemaSins just fucking die already? I honestly think they might be my single most hated channel on youtube, for how they've contributed towards turning a whole generation of internet users into film snobs who simultaneously have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.
I dunno if the song works without it but Robin williams is doing a bit when he does the New Yawk accent in the original. Will smith just does the same pronunciations in his boring ass voice and it sounds fucking weird.
Where is the cool genie stuff, like changing into a fat women?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRQMvlQA-Ac Holy shit that was great - they did a lot with a little. Way more energy from this version, and Aladdain/Ali exudes like 1000 times more charisma in like 10 seconds than does the live action movie version.
Unpopular opinion time (yes, again): 1 CinemaSins is pretty funny if one gets the joke 2 The fact that most people don´t really isn´t on the channel's head That is two opinions, not one. Have a forum sin! *ping*
No, that's bullshit. CinemaSins isn't jokes, it's fucking stupid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELEAsGoP-5I
Jesus that was good. I decided to go and look for more and I found this one, which is also fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OEBxnzBEXk Even in a different language, it holds more Charisma than the remake. Also I gotta say credit to the Genie, his performance is fantastic.
YES! A Bollywood dance number would be the perfect thing to make up for the change in medium. It would be a great way to convey the excessive and magical nature of the original Prince Ali introduction without needing to CGI in magic effects. Also because I won't stop nerding out over the cinematography, what the hell was up with that one screen wipe where they throw what I'm guessing are some sort of plants to cover the screen, and then transition into... just a slightly different angle of the exact same shot. Why the hell would you put effort into exactly one of your shot transitions when that one is completely superfluous?
Oh my god Why the fuck did I turn down those practically gift-wrapped tickets years ago?! Why the hell did I think this was going to me cringe?!
