How do we go through this with every trailer? CG is the last thing to be finished for a movie. We watched Endgame trailers that had bad CGI that wasn't present in the final film. Like, how does this just "slip" so many peoples minds?
You literally said "Everyone needs to stop being so judgemental", which if you cant see the conundrum in that sentence then I dunno what to say lol Also I have no idea where you're getting this "trailers show nothing" angle, I can practically piece this entire movie together just from watching this trailer and it's not even one of the aggregious ones. Yeah I get it, in the Infinity War trailer they showed the Green Hulk so more people would go see it, but I dont know what other trailers you're really basing this idea off of. They have to get everyone together and shoot pretty much the whole movie by the time the trailer is put into motion.
You don't know that CG is finished literally weeks before a movie is done? Since when are people unaware of a fact, that just a few years ago, we were all talking about?
good thing dark fate completely ignores terminator 3, salvation, and genesys. it picks up after t1 and t2.
I know that this is a 4k remastered version, but god damn this movie looks good for something that came out almost 30 years ago. Everything about the visuals, especially the lighting, is on point.
CGI ruined film honestly instead of relying on good lighting, cinematography, and smart use of puppeteering and tricks Now many films just say "Oh we'll CG it" and then fucking move on Properly used CGI is amazing when its subtle, but then we have films straight up just pointlessly CGI everything they can
This is actually directed by tim miller who was responsible for deadpool. Human Abyss is probably right and the cg will improve for the release.
The only thing I kind of liked was the idea that this evil terminator is T-X from T3 but with a bit more thought into it. T-X from T3 was an endoskeleton covered in T-1000 liquid making it feel like a downgrade from T-1000. Here this new terminator is actually able to turn into two bodies. Also the liquid is black now uhhh so edgy. Still T-1000 is such a great concept that they weren't able to top it. Other than that I have no idea what is going in the trailer in a way that makes me not care.
Gonna be honest, a trailer is supposed to briefly show you that a movie is good and you should see it. If you come away thinking it looks bad, that trailer failed. Marketing is incredibly important and makes or breaks products, because if people don't know about something or aren't interested after the trailer, then they most likely aren't going to see it, even if it's really, really good. Many good, well made films flop because they aren't marketed properly, aren't visible, or the trailer completely misleads the intended audience. Movie tickets are like $15 and nearly two hours of your time, and there's tons of movies out in the theaters, so looking at the trailer and thinking "maybe it won't be as bad as it looks" is a naive risk to take. Personally, after seeing this trailer, I'm putting my time and money elsewhere.
actually the 4k version is terrible. its got DNR turned all the way up as it's from the 3D version. all grain, and subsequently fine detail like pores, have been nuked. it's a waxy nightmare.
Oh god, there's been plot leaks. It sounds awful. The film is set not long after T2, and they kill John Connor off early on.
Unfortunately not unexpected, knowing the track record of newer Terminator films.
